I heard an interview with Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan this weekend on MSNBC. She has put out a world-wide request for humanitarian efforts based on the repurcussions of the events in the Gaza Strip between Israel and Hamas. She impressed me more than any political figure I’ve ever heard. She was intelligent and unwavering. Nothing was white-washed or sugar-coated, as our politicians seem to always do. She criticized the United States for (basically) condoning violence and violent acts. And she criticized the United States media for not covering all sides of this issue properly. And at the end of the interview, she thanked MSNBC for simply covering the story.
I know nothing of her politics or her stand on issues that are important to me. I’m going to do my research, though. I just know that I don’t think I’ve ever heard a head of state speak with more eloquence, passion and intelligence than Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan.
The most interesting part? She’s American
Yeah, I just found that out myself. Interesting story there. And it makes sense, I marveled at how good her English was! Haha!
